so my week is over

This week I worked at the engineering firm from 8-11 in the morning, and then came over to the school and helped with extended care. Here is my various memories at a glance:

4-square: That's right. I played 4-square with a couple 7yr old kids. I came up to them and said "Alright, what are the rules?" The little one said, "No snake eyes, cherry bombs, or magic. Popcorn to save yourself." And I knew exactly what he was talking about. It's funny that after all these years, the nicknames are still the same. For those of you who aren't 4-square literate, snake eyes means looking at someone, and serving to someone else. Cherry bombs are double-handed spike serves. Magic is just a broad topic that covers black, white, red, blue, and green magic. Basically each are there own variations of cherry bombs. Popcorn is when the ball goes out of bounds if you catch it before it hits the ground, you have to keep it bouncing.

Water day: sprinklers, water balloons, squirt guns, me, Andrew Thompson, 30 or so kids under 13. nuff said

The Leader: It was that one kid. The one that all the other guys try to hang out with. The one all the girls run away from. He had his faithful lackies, witty punchlines, and attitude that accompanies any mid-pubescent male. He had trouble with authority, but was still cool. That kid. We got along nicely, once he realized I could either be his friend and an authority figure.

All in all, it was a very good week. I had alot of fun with the kids. I can't wait to be a dad and a teacher.
